Your policing update - Tee Lane Speeding |
||
|
Dear residents, At the start of February, we wrote to let you know that your neighbourhood policing team were in the area, tackling road safety issues, primarily focussing on speeding down TEE LANE; This was on the back of reports from you folks to the relevant agencies. The results so far? It's no surprise to say that in the presence of uniformed officers, no vehicles exceeded the 30 MPH speed limit, both during peak times and off-peak times. Whilst many may consider that a negative result, we are happy to say that the influence of police presence made the road safer, even if just for a short while. However, that's not where this ends… We later returned and spoke to many residents, posting a letter through to those we didn't manage to reach; We receive back a mixture of conflicting opinions. Not everybody perceived there to be a speeding issue in the area. As such, we deliberately parked our vehicle on the side streets whilst we spoke to you. In doing so, we witnessed and dealt with multiple vehicles clearly exceeding the speed limit, without the need for a speed gun. From tickets to parental intervention, all of the drivers received something they could take home to think about. During March, you can expect to see us again, conducting the very same patrols and speed enforcement, all in the name of making your community a bit safer. If you do see us, feel free to have a chat with us! If you need to reach us before then, you can always use the below methods to contact us: · Call 101 for all non-emergencies crimes (Use 999 for all emergencies) · Send us a message on here, My Community Alert · Send us an email to Winterton@humberside.police.uk (Do not use to report emergencies)
